Better health leads to a better you. Our wellness center is available to all members for strength, cardio, endurance, flexibility and agility training. Additional training classes, like equipment instruction and developing a proper workout routine, are also available to help you get the most out of your workout.

Boxing for Youth & Adults

Boxing is the perfect way to stay fit, while gaining self confidence and learning basic self-defense. You'll learn boxing skills and techniques, and improve your stance, jab, cross, and hook.

Swim Lessons

Learning how to swim is a critical component of every child's development. The Modesto Red Shield provides swim lessons for all ages, from infant to adults. Instructors make swimming lessons fun and help students develop both swimming skills and self confidence.

Talk about a wet and wild experience when you swim at The Modesto Red Shield! We have an outdoor swimming pool perfect for exercise, splashing with friends, and learning how to swim. Our Aquatics Department is dedicated to providing quality classes and training no matter your age or ability.

After School & Education

Learn something new, improve your health, nutrition and more, or brush up on old skills with classes at the Modesto Red Shield.

Tutoring & Homework Help

Available August–June on days when school is in session.

The Modesto Red Shield's after school program is free for members, and includes a healthy snack and organized homework help for youth in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Students work on homework, projects or study skills while supervised by staff from 3:15–4:15pm. At 4:15pm, students who are Community Center Members have the option to sign out of the program and sign into the facility to utilize their member benefits. This program is not available when day camps are in session.
